Central Pennsylvania Works Funders Collaborative

Private and public funders from across the state joined forces to create The Central Pennsylvania Works Funders Collaborative, which blends investments (more than $3 million to date) from private and public funders to support the goal of increasing opportunities for lower-skilled workers through grant making, capacity building, and advocacy efforts within the state’s targeted industry clusters: workforce and employer systems change, policy change and developing civic and business leadership for workforce systems change.

Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Partnership

Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics represents over $10 billion in annual sales and over 1,600 employers in Central Pennsylvania. This partnership, led by Central PA Works, brings together workforce investment boards, PA CareerLink® locations, community colleges, employers, community-based organizations, and training providers across 13 counties to coordinate and scale up the existing TDL programs in the region. Participants can enroll in a variety of short-term training programs that are in-demand by retail distribution centers, transportation companies, third-party logistics firms, manufacturers and material handling businesses, and that are delivered by employer-approved providers. Training programs prepare participants for occupations including Forklift Operators, Certified Logistics Associate and Technicians, CDL Drivers, and Diesel Truck Technicians. Training is also available for incumbent workers to advance within a supply chain career pathway.
