Modernizing Federal Workforce Policy
Better Employment and Training Strategies Task Force
The Better Employment and Training Strategies Task Force, or BETS, was formed in November 2020 to develop recommendations for the Biden-Harris administration and Congress on critical workforce matters. The group started with fewer than 10 members and has grown to 40 experts.
The task force has five central workgroups tackling the biggest issues and leading conversations around improving the country’s employment and training system:
- Unemployment insurance
- Workforce development
- Job quality
- Youth employment
- Federal jobs initiatives
According to the task force, the name BETS evokes the idea that “all BETS are off ” unless we build back “BETter” in the workforce arena.
National Fund for Workforce Solutions President and CEO Amanda Cage is a member of the task force in the job quality working group.
