The National Fund for Workforce Solutions Names New President and CEO

2.10.20  •  by Josh Enoch  •   Press Release

Amanda Cage, previously of the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, will lead the organization’s work around good jobs, economic stability for all, and frontline worker advancement.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Fund for Workforce Solutions named Amanda Cage as its new president and CEO. Cage brings more than 20 years of federal workforce system, grantmaking, and organized labor experience to the organization.

Throughout her career, Cage has focused on ensuring inclusiveness and economic stability for workers and their families. At the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, Cage oversaw more than 70 million dollars in public and private funding for the country’s second-largest workforce system.

Her background managing a vast network of agencies and funding makes her ideally suited to lead the National Fund for Workforce Solutions and its 33 regional collaboratives. Through her leadership, the organization will have new opportunities to bring together diverse partners to support communities in creating good jobs, help businesses find and train employees, and provide opportunities for frontline workers to advance.

“It is an important time in history. Now, more than ever, we need an economy that works for everyone. I look forward to partnering with employers, workers, the workforce system, community providers, and local and national leaders across the country to ensure that all workers have the opportunities they need to thrive in America,” said Cage.  “I’m so excited about the opportunity to work with and for the National Fund for Workforce Solutions’ impressive network of employers, funders, thought-leaders, and communities.”

Cage started her career as a labor organizer working for Jobs with Justice and the Service Employees International Union and was a trade union program fellow at Harvard Law School. Before her position as chief program officer at Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, she was the organization’s director of strategic initiatives and policy. A 2017–2018 Aspen Institute job quality fellow, Cage earned a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and a master’s degree in public policy from the Harris School at the University of Chicago.

Cage will start at the National Fund for Workforce Solutions in March 2020.
