Employment and wage gains, contributions to society highlighted
Findings from a newly-released report, Social Benefit Analysis of Hotel Training Center’s Room Attendant Training Program, show a social return on investment of 487% from this program of the hospitality sector workforce partnership in Boston. Over the last five years, this program has produced a savings to society of approximately $2.93 million.
SkillWorks: Partners for a Productive Workforce, the National Fund for Workforce Solutions’ regional partner in Boston, is proud to be a funder of the Room Attendant Training Program. This program, provided by BEST Corp’s Hotel Training Center, is closely aligned with employer needs and prepares individuals to find high quality employment in the hospitality industry, specifically as room attendants at union hotels in the Boston area.
Since the program’s first class in 2009, 145 individuals have participated in and completed the program; 78% have found new employment in the hospitality industry paying average wages of more than $14/hour, employer-sponsored health insurance and other benefits.
