Gift will help accelerate the National Fund’s efforts to advance racial equity in the workforce

 

Washington D.C. September 29, 2023 – The National Fund for Workforce Solutions is excited to announce it has received an $8 million donation from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott.

The National Fund and its network of more than 30 regional workforce collaboratives are working together to reshape the landscape of workforce development. Their efforts aim to tackle structural racial inequities that have held many individuals back, propelling the country toward a future where all workers, employers, and communities can flourish.

Ms. Scott’s one-time, unrestricted gift will allow the National Fund to strengthen its organization and broaden its impact. It comes at a pivotal time, as the National Fund is set to begin a strategic planning process this fall that will set a course toward the next exciting phase of its work. Above all, it gets the National Fund closer to realizing its vision of ensuring that all workers have the resources they need to thrive, that race does not dictate employment outcomes, and that all jobs are good jobs.
