Worksystems joins the National Fund network to improve the quality of the workforce in the Portland region
The National Fund for Workforce Solutions welcomes Worksystems into its network of over 30 regional funder collaboratives. Regional funder collaboratives are the heart of the National Fund’s mission. They bring together diverse community partners to help individuals develop new skills and access a good job, businesses find trained employees, and communities generate inclusive prosperity.
Worksystems coordinates and invests resources to improve the quality of the workforce in Portland and Multnomah and Washington counties. A public-private partnership, Worksystems brings together local elected officials, private sector leaders, public agencies, education, labor, and community-based organizations to understand and address regional workforce challenges and related community issues.
“We are excited to have Worksystems join our network and increase the National Fund’s footprint in the Pacific Northwest,” said National Fund President and CEO Fred Dedrick. “Portland will make important contributions to our learning network and strengthen our other West Coast partners in their efforts to build more prosperous communities.”
Worksystems maximizes regional resources for an efficient and effective public workforce development system and develops and implements the region’s strategic workforce plan.
“We are thrilled and honored to be added to the National Fund’s network and look forward to learning and sharing with some of the best workforce development organizations in the nation,” said Andrew McGough Executive Director of Worksystems, the Portland Metro Workforce Development Board.
