We are thrilled to announce that Tawanna Black will join us in Minneapolis as the keynote speaker at SHIFT The Future of Workforce.
Tawanna is the founder and CEO of the Center for Economic Inclusion, the nation’s first Black woman-owned and led organization dedicated exclusively to strengthening public- and private-sector civic infrastructures and collective capacity to disrupt systems and influence market forces while advancing an inclusive economy. The Center is dedicated to advancing inclusive growth – by elevating data-driven promising practices, advocating inclusive policies, coordinating cross-sector, community-driven development, and piloting strategies that truly close the gaps.
Under Tawanna’s leadership, the Center is committed to closing racial employment, income, and wealth gaps, and building racially inclusive and equitable regional economies. For more than 20 years, Tawanna has led multi-sector collaboratives, triple bottom line diversity and inclusion strategy development, and economic revitalization organizations in Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota. Tawanna is a Twin Cities resident and will bring a local voice to this convening.
The seismic effects of the pandemic have put the spotlight on workers and the workforce. Job quality, worker voice and power, racial equity, and workplace culture are all part of the national conversation like they never were before. We know that Tawanna will inspire us to shift our priorities to create a better future. We are so excited to have her share her expertise and experiences with all of us at SHIFT The Future of Workforce.
We cannot wait for you to join us in Minneapolis on September 27-29 for two days of learning, networking, and sharing.
